The first shot is the USDA Farmers Market at the tent which must have been for the Mushroomapalooza. The second is from the subway ride home. The second has layered textures added to make the photo the same as the feeling I had when I was riding. To see the entire shot, you have to click on each one.
I also have two websites, blogs on both:

Hi Lee, Funny how as much as times appear to change, they have a habit of staying the same. Your Metro shot could have been taken in the 1950s, 1960s, or anytime in history. The layered effect gives it the feeling of a car that's been travelled to a frazzle (and a welcome frazzle too!). Cool. I didn't recognize you in class, but I remember your website, Things I Notice, from our class on Mastering Exposure. I apologize for the misstep. I'll be sure to say hello next week. See you Friday!
ReplyDeleteI really like the mushrooms. The closeness and the medium they are growing in are great. I think what really works for me is the gingham/checks in the background. In some way, they ground the mushrooms and also challenge them.
ReplyDeleteI like the Metro image very much. It made me feel nostalgic of times past and brought happy memories for me. I am amazed at how this image can elicit such feelings. It is a terrific photograph!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Metro shots, especially effective with the bike in the corner
