I was a little worried when the man in front started telling me about being a performance artist, then began to open up his trench coat -- but it was all OK.  

My Walk Was Shortened Because of a Schedule Conflict

I wish that I'd had more time, the captures I made are not really keepers. I noted that my unintentional theme was "colors" with a secondary tag of "graffiti." Although the day was sort of gray and grungy, the colors jumped out at me...at last, I have been out during the fall colors!!

I am sorry I wasn't able to be with you last week. I am posting a couple I took of my daughter when we visited there in August...it was warm! I felt "2025" which is reflected in the first shot. The second is of my daughter also...the free spirit.

National Arboretum

I found the Kalanchoe to be especially inspiring.

As were the Capitol Columns.

And so many other features of the Arboretum.  

Always inspired by the way that nature gives us colors via leaves, bark, berries and seeds; not just flowers.

A Day at the Arboretum

Hello everyone! It was a lovely crawl at the Arboretum. Many of the leaves have turned red or yellow, but there are plenty of green leaves remaining. Other than a few security personnel and the volunteers who help to keep the Arboretum running smoothly, Barbara, Virginia, and I practically had the entire place to ourselves. 

                                    

I took the next six photos at the Bonsai Garden/Museum around 3:00 p.m. and learned that the sun casts some interesting shadows at that time of day.

I had been to the museum in the spring and the guide mentioned that some of the Bonsai trees would bloom in the fall and bear full-size fruit even though the trees are trained to remain small. I did not see any blooming Bonsai and only saw one volunteer for a few moments--too few moments for me to ask any questions about the trees. The fruit tree in the photo is a tangerine; it is not a Bonsai.
